Career InternshipsRager, Lehman & Houck, P.C. (RLH) has a rich history of offering paid internships for accounting students who have completed their sophomore and/or junior year of college. In fact, most of our new team members over the last five years are graduates of our internship program and have received full-time employment offers prior to returning for their senior year in college.
Our internship program operates during the summer months and provides flexible scheduling, allowing you to start between the completion of your class finals and early June. Vacations are encouraged since everyone needs a break from work and school! Finish your summer internship in mid-August with time to prepare for your return to college. We structure our internship program to avoid having you be “just another paid employee” hired to handle menial tasks. You will be assigned a mentor (typically a junior or senior level accountant) and work with other team members on various client projects throughout your internship. We will present you with opportunities to experience write up work, financial statement preparation, audit planning and fieldwork, income tax preparation and other special projects as they become available. You will receive continuous feedback throughout your program and we will schedule a formal evaluation with you (similar in format to our spring and fall team evaluations) near the end of the internship to help assimilate your work experiences with your college curriculum. Part-time employment during the period January through April 15 for a senior accounting student whose class schedule allows at least half-days of employment during the week and Saturdays may also be considered. Naturally, proximity to our offices is of concern for someone who contemplates this arrangement. “Starting with the RLH team as a summer intern, I immediately knew this is the place I wanted to start my career.
