The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a new version of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. The form includes several changes, including prompts to ensure information is entered correctly, the ability to enter multiple preparers and translators, a dedicated area for additional information, and a supplemental page for the preparer/translator. According to the USCIS, the revised form is easier to complete on a computer and streamlines the certification process for certain foreign nationals. Employers are required to use the new form by January 22, 2017. Until then, employers can continue to use the old version dated 3/8/13 or use the new form dated 11/14/16. You can find the online and paper versions of the form here.
