The IRS has announced that it is working on revising payroll withholding guidance for 2018 based on changes included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The IRS anticipates releasing the final guidance in January, for use with February payroll. Until the guidance is released, employers should continue to use the 2017 withholding tables and systems. The new information will be designed to work with the existing W-4 forms that employees have already filed so that they do not need to have employees complete a new form. We will keep you updated as new guidance is released.
