Sam Miller, CPA Elected LCAA President
On Dec. 17th, 2010, the Leadership Carroll Alumni Association (LCAA) elected Sam Miller, CPA to serve as their 2011 President. Sam is a graduate of Carroll Leadership class of 2007 and is a Manager in our Westminster, MD office. Since graduating from the Carroll Leadership program, Sam has served as the LCAA's Treasurer for 2007, 2008, and 2009, and the President Elect in 2010. Congratulations to Sam on his unanimous ballot to President!
The Carroll Leadership program has been run successfully through the Carroll County Chamber for many years now, and is well known for the exceptional year-round content provided, and time invested, by “the movers” and “the shakers” in the entire County. For more information about the Leadership Program or to download an application to attend visit their web page at : http://carrollcountychamber.org/leadership-carroll.
The Leadership Carroll Alumni Association (LCAA) was formed when many program graduates had noted that there was a need to spur continued growth of their leadership skills, and provide them with additional networking activities with their class graduates and Leadership Alum as a whole. Through an established committee, various individuals from the program and the program’s administrator met to determine the feasibility and logistics of establishing an alumni association, and in December 2007 they held their first LCAA elections and Board meeting.
Their goal is simple – to maintain a solid foundation of leaders created by the Leadership Carroll program through providing a continuous source of leadership development in the County, continuing developing knowledge of the community, and promoting networking and camaraderie among Leadership Carroll graduates. The LCAA holds special events throughout the year to enhance leadership skills and allow for the social interaction among leaders. Their current goals are to complete and provide an electronic member directory to help alumni stay connected and possibly create additional leadership opportunities. LCAA has an Executive Committee and hold full Council meetings and the annual meeting takes the place of the December full Council meeting. They have an Executive Committee, Membership Committee, Events Committee, Finance Committee, Nominating Committee (as needed), and only one special committee so far (Communication/PR Committee).
